October anime update: your source, your choice
Repaired native catalogs and players, progressive checks, explicit audio and clear errors without automatic provider replacement.

The October anime updates repair discovery, title matching and player resolution with a simple rule: you choose the source; MangaMazing does not switch providers for you. Manga tools remain free; anime playback belongs to the separate account-gated media membership.
Your selection stays selected
An unavailable episode does not trigger an automatic jump to another provider, language or audio edition. Retry the selected source or choose another manually. Next, Previous, reload and watch history preserve your choice. Alternative internal players are allowed only for the same provider, work, episode and audio, not a substitute season or dub.
Discovery and source checks
Seasonal discovery and rankings use AniList with Jikan and cached metadata recovery. Checks arrive progressively; a slow provider does not hide completed results from other sources. Manual refresh requests a fresh check. Title aliases connect English and Japanese names while matching stays strict about the requested work, season and episode.
Native sources in the release samples
- BetterAnime: repaired title discovery, aliases and internal player alternatives. A Demon Slayer subtitled episode decoded at 1280 × 720.
- Goyabu: catalog and native extraction retained. Naruto dubbed decoded at 480 × 360; three cold application runs retrieved fresh catalogs and played that selected edition.
- GogoAnime Mirror: repaired canonical lookup and aliases, with episode and sub/dub validation. My Hero Academia Final Season decoded at 640 × 360 in the sample.
- SuperFlix: retained in the integration inventory but blocked for playback, not a working option.
These are sampled dimensions, not a resolution promise for every title. Checks required decoded frames, varied nonblack pixels and advancing playback, not just an iframe or HTTP response. Native decoder checks ran on the exact release image in isolated staging; public production checks confirmed that image, version and routes, not a second authenticated playback test across every provider.
Goyabu and Cloudflare
FlareSolverr 3.4.6 repeatedly timed out at 35 seconds on Goyabu's browser challenge. Version 3.5.2 passed three cold challenge solves and cold full-application playback checks before adoption, and its deployed image is pinned by immutable digest.
That repairs a verified failure in our access path, not every third-party outage. Naruto episode one subtitled was still reported unavailable by its upstream Blogger player in the same sample. The site kept the error on that selected episode instead of serving the dub silently.
ani.pm stays explicit
The external ani.pm player opens only when selected. Handshake, audio and subtitle variants, retries and cleanup were updated against its published integration contract. Explicit audio and subtitle choices survive episode navigation and reload. Warnings cover external ads, popups and fullscreen behavior; availability still depends on the provider.
Errors and verification limits
Missing catalog episodes, an upstream unavailable-video message, resolution failures and timeouts are different conditions. The interface separates them and offers retry or manual source choice. A green health indicator does not prove that a particular episode plays.
QA covered short playback samples and navigation, not complete episodes, all titles, subjective audio listening or every physical phone. Report title, season, episode, source and chosen audio on GitHub when a specific case fails.
